Who We See

At Connecting Dots 4 Kids we see children with a wide variety of diagnoses.  We also know that a diagnosis is really to help understand the way a child presents and that sometimes, children are on a journey that may or may not include a diagnosis at some point in the future.  We believe that all children have strengths and challenges and that with support and knowledge, we can work together to help children thrive.

Occupational Therapy helps people to achieve participation and engagement in their daily and functional roles.  Difficulties in engaging in occupations can come from a wide variety of social, cognitive, emotional, physical, and environmental challenges.  For children, the daily occupations we can assist with include:

- Play (social, imaginative and pretend, construction, sensory, physical)

- Learning (writing, attention and concentration, organizational skills, perceptual-motor, visual perception)

- Self-care (feeding, toileting, dressing, bathing, sleep)

We commonly work alongside other allied health and medical professionals as part of a team helping children achieve their best.  Connecting Dots 4 Kids gladly welcomes the opportunity to work with others supporting children including parents, caregivers, teachers, support staff, medical professionals and other allied health providers.  Whilst a diagnosis is not essential for us to work with children, some of the common diagnoses children may have when they come to Connecting Dots 4 Kids are:

- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

- Anxiety
